In an overwhelming response to Pramo Deshmukh, the Chairman’s appeal, around
500 women in Sagroli, joined hands together against a liquor shop in the
village, on the occasion of the 68th Independence Day.
A wine shop located in the middle of the
village has been a nuisance to the children on their way to and from school.
Even there is a temple nearby. Many of the villagers
got addicted to drinking and caused embarrassment and menace to the society and
their families. Eventually, the women
community revolted and force closed the shop.
In fact SSM,
had moved the first step and ignited the spark against this social evil. All
women have forwarded a collectively signed statement to the District Collector,
emphasizing the dire need to evacuate the shop permanently out of the village.
